About Me
Family
My full name is Sunpech Steven Suwatanapongched. I was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 7, 1978. I am the son of Supachai and Benjamas. I have three sisters, Pechluck, Hemaluck, and Juthamas. My father is Chinese, my mother is Thai, making which makes me half Chinese and half Thai. I speak English, Thai, and very little Chinese (Mandarin-- I took a few classes).
School
I attended Morgan Park Academy from 1985 to 1997 (1st through 12th grade). I participated in activities such as wrestling, tennis, chorus, WYSE competition, photography, and the school paper's cartoon editorials.
For undergraduate years I lived in Boston, Massachusetts where I went to Boston University to originally pursue a degree in Advertising or Business, but eventually went with Computer Science. In 2001, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and returned to Chicago.
From 2004 to 2006 I pursued a Masters of Science degree in Information Systems at CTI Depaul University. I graduated with competencies in Project Management, Enterprise Systems Integration, IT Planning & Strategies, and Global Systems & Strategies.
Work
I am a software developer for Keane Inc. Although my title is consultant, I've never found that to describe anything. I primarily develop for the Windows enviroment using .Net technologies, but I also have experience developing for the Unix/Linux enviroment.
Interests
Web technology and business management are some of my favorite subjects to talk about. I am a believer in using technology to improve the way we do business and ultimately how we can solve the problems in this world.
I enjoy reading books on technology, business, and graphic novels. I have a tendency to read about 4-5 books at the same time. Some of my favorite books are: Spoon River Anthology, Jurrasic Park, Sin City, and Kingdom Come. I am not much of a tv person, but I do enjoy the following shows: Entourage, Heroes, The Office, House MD, Battlestar Galactica, and South Park. I am more of a movie person. I have too many favorites, but I enjoy sci-fi, action/adventure, and horror flicks. My music tastes include just about everything, minus country and inspirational.
