Heroes
I was so sure Steven would get Hiro. He is Hiro. Hiro is him. Hiro is Steven's super-powered Japanese alter ego.
But then, I did get Claire....I think this test is totally random.

Moving Blues
I will be moving (yes, AGAIN!) in the next few weeks. It will be yet ANOTHER state, which means I will need to get new car license plates and a new driver's license (DL).
But at least I will live within a 5 minute drive of Red Robin!
I hope the Connecticut DL looks ok. My California DL was great because it gave me so many discounts and my Massachusetts one is a pretty blue and green. I better not get some ugly pink card...

A Wintry Valentine's Day
How I miss LA...
The first (haha, hopefully the only?) snowstorm of the season blew through Broccoli Valley just in time for Valentine's Day. If anyone saw House this week, the episode also focused on a snowstorm on Valentine's Day that closed the clinics, filled the ER and forced the team to help out in the ER...
It wasn't quite like that for pediatrics. (The adult ER overflowed, though...) I was on call for the PICU, but most children stayed home because the snowfall was so heavy that no one was leaving home in anything less than an ambulance after an emergency 911 call. We had a mostly quiet, uneventful night--a few residents decided to stay over at the hospital rather than risk the drive, so we also had a little extra company for the night.
My poor Beamer. <3 It valiantly tries to do battle with the snow but sometimes it just feels like a thoroughbred whose heart would rather burst than give up...
On a slightly more uplifting note, a special little envelope arrived for me the other day. I've been selected as one of the households for the Nielsen ratings! They also stuck a wad of cash in the envelope. Cool, hunh?

Courthouse Adventures and Other Tales
I am having such a great week!
I had a lot of fun in clinic on Monday and Tuesday--good cases, good physical findings--and today I was in juvenile court. I thought of Joody all day while I trailed behind judges (occasionally feeling as though I was at some graduation because of the gowns they don for the court) and listened to attorneys. I've never really paid much attention to how a court is portrayed in the movies or television (I'm usually following the storyline, not the minutiae of how a court handles a case), so I felt like I was in an entirely different world today.
And I kept thinking about Joody!
Maybe I'll finally get called to jury duty while I am still living in the appropriate state--and then I'll sit in the jury box for real, instead of walking in before the judge and using the jury box because it's the first seat that I come across.
In other news, I finally located my wandering calculator! After the buttons on my old calculator fell off during intern year (I used tape to hold the pieces together for a while but that only prolonged its death), my current calculator came with a flip cover to protect the buttons. But then I left in in the NICU before I left for the holidays! I missed it so much that I even had a dream that I found it... I'm so glad it's been found!
