Over the long weekend I got a chance to play Rock Band by Harmonix on a friend's Xbox 360. I've played Guitar Hero before, but this experience was just so much more complete and fun. It's also available on the Playstation 3, and they both offer online co-op play. Now the question is, which one do I get?

I'm leaning more towards the xbox 360 system/game because I would love to give Halo 3 a try. The negatives are that I have to pay for membership to play online, I read that the system has overheating problems, and finally that I can't swap the hard drive out for a bigger one of my choosing. And yes, I don't yet care for the HD DVD add-on.

The PS3 however, the big plus is that it's a Blu ray player and that it's free online play. The minus is that, from a developer's perspective, I understand that it's harder to make games for it. That right there could be a killer. It's software that drives hardware sales. Maybe not everyone knows this, but companies lose money selling systems, but they make it up from sales of games.

I guess I'll have to read up on the PS3 wiki and xbox 360 wiki for more info before I make my decision. Oh, and I guess it would be good to know which friends have what systems too.

I got myself a new mp3 player, the Sansa e280. I used to have an Apple iPod mini, but the battery life on that device was just horrible after less than one year. I was thinking of getting a new Ipod, but I was sick of Apple's proprietary music format. I love iTunes, but it's a bit bloated. So now I use either plain old winamp or the relatively new open source, Songbird.

What I love about my new toy is that I don't need any bloated program to copy music, videos, pictures, or other data formats onto my device. I just drag and drop files in. It's also inexpensive compared with the iPod and it's got a built in FM tuner! Plus, on top of all that, as a technocrat, I'm starting to get sick of hearing about Steve Jobs and Apple. Let's just say that I consider them over-rated.

At first glance, I see her spinning clockwise. But if I close my eyes for a bit and look again, I see her spinning counter-clockwise. So for the most part I'm right-brained.
